December 2020 update

The current crisis has clearly taken a toll on all of us, and I hope you're still keeping together. I'm doing all right, all things considered, but I haven't been looking out the window as much due to the short daylight hours. I do have a few updates regarding Opposed:

  • I have made the final changes to the audio track for Opposed episode 1 this month and have finished background plates for the flashforward prologue scene. A flashforward to what, I can't explicitly say yet but it's partially driven by rotating interests for certain shows I had at the time.
  • Due to certain grievances (not mine*) regarding an anticipated movie that released on Christmas, I have decided to try and rework plot points in my own series. Furthermore, I should not be dwelling on future story events until I've actually reached the episodes to which they apply.
  • On the computer I am running Garry's Mod on, there's still the potential for a sudden freeze or crash because certain scenes require loading huge maps (i.e. a version of BigCity). As such, I still choose not to have the series be in full video. This decision to make an "audiovisual series", or an audio drama with visuals, was one I made since back in 2017 before I even got access to a computer that can run GMod without the graphics going all flickery and with more reasonable loading times. There may be some full-motion clips planned somewhere down the road.

Please stay safe out there, and have a Happy New Year. Let's hope 2021 turns things around for the better.

Regards,
Jack Y.

*Because a certain required streaming service is not provided where I live, I haven't premium-rented said movie, and theatres are closed due to pandemic restrictions at the time of this post.

Reannouncement poster delayed

Due to the Beirut explosions on the coincidental date of Aug. 4, 2020, a reannouncement poster for Opposed!: the new Opposition/Resurrection intended for yesterday or today has been delayed for at least a week.

June 6 and July 8, 2020 updates

The following consists of two posts that were originally written on the superslinger2007 website and presented here as-is. They were written under the perceived pressure of being lumped in with others.

The first post begins... "I wish I knew the right words to say. There are many things being said right now that many others end up saying better than I can." However, most of this consists of clarifying my intended storytelling efforts for the Opposed remake. See the rest after the jump.

Opposed progress update, March 2020

Due to personal circumstances, Opposed will temporarily shift production to the audio track for Episode 7, "Integrity desolation". LF Productions will resume progress on Episode 2, "Operative displacement", as soon as possible.

Opposed delayed again, again

(Originally written on the superslinger2007 website)

There's been another major news story. It's going to delay Opposed even longer because (let's just say) the pre-title sequence is an integral teaser to late-series events. It'll be too soon to release the premiere at this time because of the news. The most I can do is avoid showing certain things directly.
I must insist that, sooner or later, I will have to release the premiere no matter what. It's been delayed for so long and so many times that sometimes I just want to get it out when it's done.

Jack Y.

Opposed delayed again

(Originally written on the superslinger2007 website)

Due to a major news story going around lately (you know the one), Opposed will further be delayed since episode 1's pre-title sequence may be risky to release at this point in time. Other reasons include a pressing local matter that I have to deal with this month, as well as the continuing slow progress in making the series itself; this slow progress is mainly due to recurring unexpected crashes of Garry's Mod because of how old my main computer is, which led to the stylistic choice of making Opposed an audiovisual series.

Thank you for your patience.
