July-August 2014 status update

We are now confirming that the so-called "fugitive" has attended three events throughout July and August 2014.

• July 26, 2014 Unspecified event
• August 7, 2014 Theatre screening of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods
• August 18, 2014 Concert featuring a guest who previously met the "fugitive" at Otafest in both 2013 and 2014 (Kieran S.)

The fugitive is planning to attend two more events in August, but for now, as usual, we have compiled a list of data. Click "read more" for further info.



July 26, 2014
Unspecified event

• What little data we received indicates that the "fugitive" delivered, to two people previously met at Otafest, personal claims about 2014 ([5161814]) being his supposedly "final time" because "[he] wanted total closure", but added that if there's a special guest he knows of, that might bring him back.
• The "fugitive" may have had someone write encouraging stuff on one of the Otafest guidebooks after passing up multiple chances over the years since the dark times (circa 2012). (See also Otafest debriefings REDUX chapter 11 "Post-fatal decision emotional stability efforts")

August 7, 2014
Theatre screening of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods

• Due to the timing of a Twitter conversation on August 6 with Otafest 2014 guest Chris Cason (see here), we are under the impression that the "fugitive" has attended one of the two screenings.
• This is further supported by more tweets made on the morning of August 7. [1] [2] [3] [4]
• Despite expecting a long lineup, reports indicate that viewers were allowed to take spots inside the empty theatre that morning.
• Despite expecting to avoid filming private recordings, further reports indicate that three people showed up in costume before the doors opened. Unfortunately for the "fugitive", reluctancy kicked in; he witnessed someone else take out a camera, and was not willing to do so himself...
• ...until the screening ended. The crowd around the "fugitive" had apparently also taken the opportunity to take out their cameras while he had the three, of course, wave at the camera... after an unexpected delay while filming due to sudden reluctancy and letting the crowd have their turn.
• Further reports indicate he implicitly needed assistance in identifying the characters while taking notes as he did during [5161814]; by his own admission, it had been a long time since the "fugitive" watched the series.

August 18, 2014
Concert featuring a guest who previously met the "fugitive" at Otafest in both 2013 and 2014 (Kieran S.)

• By retweeting a post made by Kieran about an outdoor park meetup, the "fugitive" implied he'd be stopping by; however, reports indicate that facial recognition issues had kicked in and he was unable to recognize anyone there, so he headed over to the concert venue an hour early - about the time that cover charges were about to begin.
• The fugitive may have been listening attentively to each of the performers despite not understanding the lyrics to most songs.
• Further reports indicate the "fugitive" was reluctant but decided to take up the chance to purchase a CD after letting the chance pass by twice, presumably referring to the fear/survival and [5161814] missions of 2013 and 2014 respectively.
• The "fugitive" became excited as soon as "Adamantine Hearts" began and he stood up out of his chair and stepped toward the stage; apparently, the "fugitive" considers this song "encouraging stuff".
• We are under the impression that after a sudden announcement for Kieran's visit to Otafest Aurora 2014, the "fugitive" may have stumbled in a fit of regret; he had declared Otafest (May 2014) to be the final mission, codenamed [5161814].
• After the concert, the "fugitive" asked Kieran about the condition of a Companion Cube papercraft that was specifically rebuilt for her during [5161814]. We will not reveal the details here, but this ties into the Otafest debriefings REDUX that were made in June 2014. (See chapter 7 "Autographs, 2013-2014: post-fatal decision")
• As usual for the "fugitive", a private recording was filmed.
• Despite his earlier claim that a known special Otafest guest may bring him back, we believe that he may be avoiding Aurora as implicitly promised. This is not an indicator of certainty regarding attendance at future events at this time; awaiting further data.

We expect further "fugitive" attendances for other events to occur on August 23 and 25, 2014. Current data indicates that these events may be a Japanese festival that had changed locations since 2013, and a theatre screening of Doctor Who: "Deep Breath".

Curiously, the "fugitive" picked the Doctor Who screening at the same location and same approximate time as another screening nine months ago to the day.
