Why "Same Direction"?

//////////
The reason why I picked "Same Direction" for the "Farewell to Otafest" music video? Well, we are all going in the same direction. Eventually, we'll all grow to have something against one another.

Prove or disprove?

Agitation factors 2012

  1. Global Calgary May 14 newscast - characters I don't know alongside characters I do
  2. No known special guests over 2011-12. Fed up with this and "took it out" on others without malice.
  3. Otafest itself. Hence, cancellation of Payback: the Otafest vlogs and resulting departure; not going back anymore. Something made me change my mind

Payback's on the shelf of languishment

While the rest of season 2 will be made and published, these remaining episodes will not be released publicly, as it is clear that people have turned against me.

Payback 2012: What to expect

Last updated: June 19, 2012
  • Fewer gameplay segments than in the 4th split day
-likely placed in separate videos similarly to Superman 64 and UMK3 Noob Saibot shenanigans (day 3, 2011)
(Actually, there are very short gameplay segments of Portal 2 as well as one regular game/cosplay segment of Dance Central 2 in season 2 day 3 (unreleased))
  • Fewer scenes between ST and MacHall
-Science A is blocked off for repairs, including a pathway seen in Loose Discovery (July 2010) and the four 2011 installments (days 1-3 and the 4th split day).
-Since this construction will apparently finish in late fall of 2012, this will cut into Otafest and the Payback vlogs.
  • Quicker, more to-the-point, rundown of my Payback rules in accordance with Otafest rules - leading to shorter intro for day 1
-Actually, the rundown for the 4th split day still applies.)
  • New title sequence, based on the Scout sketch from the Nov. 11, 2011 Usercast and COMPROMISE situation, and featuring a Lego caricature of the user (me)
-And two more hypothetical situations based on actual cosplay characters witnessed during season 1 and conjecture from the inhibitor filler episodes. Day 2 titles NOT representative of Jack's views.
  • A lot less "Anticipation"; I already showed you around!
  • Even more cosplay segments, pending reluctancy, events around me, and other factors such as battery problems (hopefully averted).
-Proportionately, with more people attending the main Otafest convention than in Lite, there would be a whole lot more cosplayers and cosplay characters
-Unfamiliarity with certain characters posed unlikeliness.

-Of course, people are sharing stuff on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, and, after all, I can't pull a Stalin on others' submissions, now can I?
  • Taking lessons about prescriptivism and moral consistency into further effect
Morality falls out the window in day 3
  • Make the series not so centered around CODE RED anymore; it's done!
  • Thus, no more coverups by Net persona
  • Take the camera up to the dance floor for once. (Segments may be muted (except for leitmotifs) due to auditory harassment risk)
-No segments made. Why...? Was shot up and reluctant.
  • Research preparation (tentative)
    -Partially.
-Global Calgary May 14 newscast was a factor of expectation and agitation.
-Did not expect the amount of unfamiliarity/unknown characters encountered.
  • More-fitting leitmotifs for cosplay characters
    -It's the same as ever
  • Higher LHS tolerance
    - Still went into denial on day 3 (unreleased), though.
  • Community fad tolerance (tentative)
-Any references to BEEPs and BEEEEPs are censored
  • More plan-Bs for setbacks - hopefully not just waving at the camera.
-How about you salute to the camera?
  • Getting around my camera's weak microphone range
  • Desperate closures!
-Attempted, did not go through with it.

Payback regulations require my own self to not reveal anyone else's names (or usernames). However, I stumbled upon a few people's own video postings....

Payback filming location maps

A few days ago, I had the idea of making up some maps that showed where the four days of Payback: the Otafest vlogs occurred. Here are links to the maps (using Twitter's image service (powered by Photobucket)).

See also this Interactive Room Finder, which is what I used for the printouts as well as for one of the spy file pictures.

    Payback: the leitmotifs

    Updated August 6, 2012
-The Otafest-related screening on the day of the August 4 fatal decision screened FLCL among other anime. Thus, the leitmotif used in season 1 has been named.

    June 19, 2012
-Listed remaining vlog themes for season 2 day 3 as a courtesy. Cosplay segment leitmotifs are not listed.

    June 11, 2012
-Season 2 day 2 part 1 listings added (The LAST publicly released episode)

This is meant as an information listing.
I've reluctantly gone back and listed all the leitmotifs used in the first four all the publicly released Payback installments.

See the lists after the jump (Click "read more").

WARNING: Spoilers to various series and clues to superslinger2007 videos/media ahead. Also, I did a lot of research into various matters. The CODE RED spoiler expiry policy came into effect on May 2, 2012; there will be spoilers to CR: the written adaptation.

Payback vlogs: the 4th split day - coming soon

    Main post: superslinger2007.blogspot.com/2011/05/payback-otafest-vlogs.html

Looks like the 4th episode of the experimental amateur documentary video-log series, Payback: the Otafest vlogs, is coming into play. I still need to be careful.

In related news, the overdue Usercast vlog should be made on Nov. 11.

Filming date is Nov. 12, 2011.

    Payback: the Otafest vlogs

Please go to the YouTube channel for the respective video playlists. Thank you.

    Updated May 29, 2012

The Payback vlog series was created in light of the May 22, 2010 COMPROMISE, and consists of superslinger2007 (the user) trying to find things to talk about (or, as of "the 4th split day", mess around with) while mostly getting others in cosplay costumes to do random poses or wave at the camera.

    Payback: the background

    Updated Nov. 15, 2011

The original idea for Payback came during October 2010, just before Otafest Lite 2010 (in November). It was a time when I had not yet fully gotten over the COMPROMISE in May 2010, in which two YouTube users shot me in public (filmed me without my knowledge) and posted their exploits.
It was then that I chose to film myself in a series of short vlogs, put them together, and post the full video before anyone else could post anything of me.

    May 2011 convention

I have revealed information about a small "unspecified project"* I worked on last week, as well as info pertaining to what I may be doing during the upcoming Otafest convention: the mini-series "Payback" (now known as "Payback: the Otafest vlogs"), first mentioned before CODE RED Oct 25 2010 Part 1.

The video entitled "3 days left on the 17th" can be viewed here.

I am more open than I was last year, explaining why I'm saying things like this when I hadn't done so last year.

Please note that clues to CODE RED are also provided for research. Also note that my website has been updated as well (superslinger2007.jimdo.com).

    * Nov. 15, 2011: It has since been revealed as a Companion Cube Pin papercraft, based on the Portal Companion Cube papercraft located somewhere on the internet as well as the limited Team Fortress 2 item that I missed out on.
